✨ Welcome
Welcome to our new members — and thank you to everyone who continues to be part of this growing community.
This space is for clinicians, helpers, leaders, and learners. Everything shared here is designed to support your confidence, strengthen your clinical voice, and offer real tools you can take directly into the therapy room.
🧠 Trauma-Responsive Practice Insight of the Month
A simple grounding cue before EMDR:
“Let your breath settle and allow your body to find one spot that feels steady.
Even if it’s small, let that be your anchor.”
This cue works especially well with clients who carry hyperarousal, freeze responses, or a long history of “trying to stay strong.” It offers the nervous system something achievable and stabilizing.
🔍 The EMDR Corner
Case Conceptualization Tip
When a client struggles with memory gaps, dissociation, or a long trauma timeline, simplify the target plan by focusing on themes rather than individual events.
Examples of thematic targets:
- “Moments where I felt unsafe”
- “Times when my voice didn’t matter”
- “When my body felt tight or scared”
This approach is especially supportive for teens, individuals with SMI, and clients with developmental or complex trauma.
💻 Tech + Therapy Spotlight
Low-pressure tech integration idea:
Use a visual grounding image.
Invite the client to choose or create an image that represents safety, calm, or strength.
They can:
- Find an image
- Draw one
- Generate one with AI
This works well for children, teens, neurodivergent clinicians and clients, and adults who benefit from concrete visual anchors.
📚 Teaching Story of the Month
One of the most meaningful moments recently was watching clinicians in my EMDR Refresher reconnect with their confidence. When a clinician realizes, “I can do this on Monday morning,” the room shifts. Nervous systems settle. Clarity returns. Intention sharpens.
That kind of transformation is what keeps me teaching.

💛 Wellness for the Therapist
A quick regulation practice between clients:
Pause. Drop your shoulders. Unclench your jaw.
Place both feet on the floor and give your body 10 seconds.
Clinicians often teach regulation without receiving it. You deserve the same care you offer others.

A gentle question for your own healing, not just your clients’.
